The Washington Clean Energy Coalition has submitted formal comments to the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission on Puget Sound Energy’s most recent resource proposal.
What we asked for
Our comments make three points:
- New natural gas capacity is incompatible with the state’s 2045 carbon-free electricity mandate.
- Clean alternatives — wind, solar, storage, and efficiency — can meet the same reliability needs.
- Ratepayers should not be left holding the cost of stranded fossil-fuel assets.
What happens next
The Commission will review comments from all stakeholders before issuing its decision. We will continue to track the docket and report back here.
